Chance & Sage: A Wolf’s Hunger by S. Raven Storm

Chance I thought I had all the time in the world to take my father’s place as Alpha of the Rolling Hills Pack. With my brother dead, my father maimed, the pack under attack, and a nemesis looking to take my place, I had no choice but to be the alpha I have been groomed to be. I will fight to the death to protect my family and pack, helped by my Godfather, Alpha King Tatum. The only thing stronger than my destiny is my fate brought on by the Wolf’s Hunger. Sage I am a combination of my warrior mother Alpha Queen Bristol and my legendary father King Alpha Tatum. One would think being the only female in the elite fighting group called, The Beasts would prove my worth. But because of my gender, my twin brother Tabris is promised to be the next alpha of the Blackstone pack. And I promised to be married off to some lowland alpha. I must prove my ability to rule, to show my father that it is I who has mastered his techniques. My journey will change my life forever. However, when the Wolf’s Hunger takes control, I must follow my heart.

Excerpt from Chance & Sage: A Wolf’s Hunger

“When the waitress came to take her order, she slammed the beer down onto the dark, scarred table, which made the beer spill onto the already discolored table.

“I didn’t order yet; I definitely wouldn’t order a beer,” Sage said as she took a napkin out of the napkin-holder to wipe away the spill. “The table in the back sent it and said whatever you want is on the house,” the waitress said in a jealous tone as she pointed to the table with the handsome wolf and his two friends.

Sage smiling lifted her glass in gratitude, as she made direct contact with the one she knew sent the beer.

When the woman then slammed the plate of chicken on the table, Sage looked up and said in a steely voice, “Slam something else and I will slam your face into this table.” The waitress started to retaliate; her mouth opened to reply, but instead took a step back as she began to size Sage up. The look in Sage’s eyes let the waitress know she was serious. Instead of saying anything else, the waitress stormed away from the table.

Sage’s chicken wings were delicious; she ate the entire plate, bones and all, within minutes. She was hungry, but now understood why. Somehow the fact that she was under the spell of the wolf’s hunger made everything okay. She realized it wasn’t an illness that plagued her, only her destiny. The occasional mood swings, and abdominal pain, along with the heat between her legs was what made things unbearable.”
