First Kiss Friday

Every Friday I share the first kiss from a book. This week it’s One Night in Portland by Angelique Migliore.
A soldier and a quilt artist collide on a street corner in Portland and into each other’s worlds.

His hands stayed at his sides on the bench, but his gaze dropped down to my spread legs. My bare thighs, lacy stocking bands, and garter belt straps were narrowly visible under my partially opened dress front. I gently lifted his face to mine. “Eyes up here, buddy,” I whispered.
His eyes obeyed, but not before taking their sweet time and lingering on my breasts so close to his chest. “I see you, Lee-Lee Song. I see all of you.”
My nipples hardened at his admission. I captured his face in my hands and focused on his lips. “You make me feel seen, Finn O’Grady.” I kissed one corner of his mouth and moved to the other corner. I outlined his lips with my tongue and then softly captured his top lip with my teeth. I gently sucked on it before moving down to his bottom lip and giving it the same treatment.
He inhaled a deep breath but still didn’t reciprocate my kiss. He did, however, allow me to move his head to my desired angles. Little did he know, I loved kissing, and I was prepared to fight this fight all night with him.
I kissed his eyes shut one at a time; I kissed his nose. I returned to his mouth and spoke, my lips brushing his with every word, “I need you to be open and honest with me. I let you into my studio almost immediately. Let me in, O’Grady. I want to see all of you, too.”
