Brett rose on her toes, one hand still on his shoulder, the other tucked in his. Will bent and plumeria-soft lips touched his. Her fingers locked around his like they were her lifeline.

Her lips parted. Want and need and a dozen daydreams collided. He groaned and his tongue took over, tracing the perfect line of her lips. Slipping inside when she committed by resting her weight against him. He caught hints of hot chili and sweet pears. Her hand dropped from his shoulder to his chest, knotting in his jacket.

He caught her and swung her around, back against the wall, needing her like he needed oxygen.

“You love birds ready or what?” The producer’s sharp bark shattered the moment.

Brett’s fingers convulsed, then she let go.
