First Kiss Friday

»»————- ♡ ————-««
Every Friday I share the first kiss from a book. This week it’s My Heart Weeps by Pamela S Thibodeaux.

The story of one woman’s journey
through grief into new life

Before she could react or protest, he had her backed up against the wall, her body pressed firm against his chest, and his arms wrapped around her so tight she could scarcely breathe. Where Kidd’s kiss was tender, gentle, Garrett’s was anything but. His lips swooped over hers in an embrace that robbed her of the very air she needed to live. A kiss so fierce her knees threatened to buckle. Sensations battered her like a thousand tiny tornadoes until she found herself plastered against him, her hands fisted in his hair, her mouth demanding as much as his.

A guttural sound echoed in his throat and Garrett hauled her closer still for a brief, desperate moment, then eased her away.

“I’m not going to finish this here and now, not like this,” he said, his voice raw, eyes fierce. “You’re much too precious for that. But you think about it all those nights while you’re home, alone, and hurry back.” His eyes softened, tone gentled. “I’ve got a ride scheduled in less than fifteen minutes, so I won’t be in the lodge when you stop by. Take care of yourself. Call anytime you want to talk. Come back soon.” He brushed his lips across hers in a tender caress, opened the door and walked out.

Melena crumpled onto the nearest chair. Her breath escaped in jagged pants. Sparks indeed! Tiny pinpoints of pleasure bathed her senses in light and color. Electrical vibrations skittered and jumped along every nerve she possessed. She placed a hand against her body lest the pounding organ in her chest should hammer its way out. A sob shuddered through her. She pressed a fist against her lips and willed some semblance of control to her racing pulse.
