First Kiss Friday
This week’s first kiss is from Kyleigh’s Cowboy by Pamela S Thibodeaux
A Second Chance romance between a widow and a cowboy.
They enjoyed a comfortable quiet time as they feasted on the thick ham and cheese sandwiches, fresh fruit, and iced tea Ramona had provided.
“Whew! Not sure if I’ll be able to get back down after all that,” Kyleigh said with a laugh.
Lance chuckled. “Aren’t you glad you came?”
“I am. This place is beautiful. So serene.”
He’d been trained to read people—expressions and body language. The relaxed pose in which she rested encouraged him to close the minute distance between them. He cradled her head in his palm and lowered his mouth toward hers. “You’re what’s most beautiful about this whole day.”
A shiver trembled through her. One he responded to on a visceral level. He edged closer. Kyleigh placed a hand against his chest, then lifted her lips to his. Though brief, the kiss held all the promise of tomorrow. Lance cuddled her against his shoulder and sank his hands into her hair, shaking it loose, until it rippled across her back in luxurious waves. Awe and gratitude filled his soul. For the first time in his life, he allowed himself to believe in the possibilities love had to offer.
